Women with disability
The nature and dynamics of violence and abuse towards women with disability differ from the general population and this group experiences additional barriers when accessing support services.
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics’ Personal Safety Survey 2016 (ABS, 2017), women with a disability or long-term health condition are more likely to have experienced violence than those without.
Below is a collection of resources, papers, reports and research projects that explore the nature of violence for women with disability, along with barriers and support strategies.
