Methodology report: Survey redevelopment and implementation of the 2017 National Community Attitudes towards Violence against Women Survey (NCAS)

The National Community Attitudes towards Violence against Women Survey, or NCAS, is a resource for anyone wanting to understand and prevent the serious and prevalent problem of violence against women.

This report has been written to document the methods used in the redevelopment of the survey instrument, data collection and analysis. It has been written for an audience with an interest in the detailed methodology used and assumes a knowledge of basic research and statistical concepts. The methodology has been summarised in plain English in other project publications for policy, practitioner and lay audiences.

Appendices referred to in this report can be found in a separate document: National Community Attitudes towards Violence against Women Survey (NCAS): Methodology report appendices

It is one of a suite of resources being produced by ANROWS that draws on data from the 2017 NCAS. The suite includes a high level summary of this report, and is available on the NCAS microsite.
