Violence against women and children affects everybody. It impacts on the health, wellbeing and safety of a significant proportion of Australians throughout all states and territories and places an enormous burden on the nation’s economy across family and community services, health and hospitals, income-support and criminal justice systems.

New ANROWS research report available later today

Sunday, 18th October 2015

Today ANROWS will release its first empirical research report, Violence against women in Australia: Additional analysis of the Australian Bureau of Statistics’ Personal Safety Survey 2012.

This report builds on previously published data by providing more details on: who experiences violence and who perpetrates violence; what happens in incidents of violence and what happens afterwards. It also analyses data on how women are repeatedly impacted by violence.

Check back later today to read the report, or subscribe to receive it in your inbox as soon as it’s released.
