Peer assessment and review: ANROWS Research Grants
ANROWS uses peer assessment and review as an important part of the rigorous and transparent process undertaken for assessing research and developing its publications.
Peer assessment
ANROWS uses a rigorous peer assessment process for its grants rounds. This enables ANROWS to review grant applications and commission research impartially and based on merit. Our peer assessors are researchers, policymakers, practitioners and people with lived experience of DFSV who have expert knowledge in the field of violence against women. ANROWS grant applications are assessed by a panel of peer assessors, and the panel’s feedback on each application is provided once the grants round has been finalised.
Peer review
ANROWS has developed peer review guidelines that are consistent with the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics’ (COPE) Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers (2017), to ensure that our publications are of the highest quality. At least two peer reviewers with relevant academic expertise review each ANROWS publication prior to their release. Peer reviewers are required to read the latest version of ANROWS Peer Reviewer Guidelines.
