Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities

We value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and knowledge. We are committed to standing and working with First Nations peoples, honouring the truths set out in the Warawarni-gu Guma Statement.
The National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children 2010–2022 sets out a framework to coordinate action across Commonwealth, state and territory governments to reduce violence against women and their children. In the National Plan, “Indigenous communities are strengthened” has been identified as a national outcome.
