Open grants round - Research Priorities 2017-19

The end of 2016 was extremely busy at ANROWS, with a late-December opening of our 2017-19 grants round.  The grants round involves a competitive, merit-based selection process which is open to any Australian-based organisation and is listed on the Australian Competitive Grants Register (Category 1 status).

ANROWS staff have already received many enquiries from interested researchers and are excited by the prospect of many high quality applicants from a range of research and service organisations.

Topics build on our work over the last two years, as well as taking into account recommended research areas identified through recent government and Royal Commission inquiries.

Research Priorities 2017-19 have a focus on intersectionality and diversity, with all funded projects including consideration of priority populations such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, women with disability, and culturally and linguistically diverse women.

Support for early career researchers and service provider led research is also central to the round, with specific streams for these two groups of applicants. ANROWS strongly encourages applications with partnerships between research and service provider organisations.

ANROWS will work to ensure a robust program with a balance between small, medium and large sized projects. Historically, most researchers have applied for larger grants, which means that smaller projects may be more competitive.

The grants round closes 5pm AEDT 31 March 2017.
